When Yarbo is exposed to freezing temperatures for extended periods (≤ 0 °C), internal components—particularly moving parts such as the auger, deflector, and chute—are at risk of freezing in place.
To prevent this, Anti-Freeze Mode periodically activates these parts to keep them from seizing up. This short, automated movement sequence protects the mechanical integrity of the system and ensures that Yarbo remains ready for operation even after being stored in cold weather.

Once Anti-Freeze Mode is enabled in the Yarbo App, the following actions occur automatically every 30 minutes:
| Component | Motion Range | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Snow Chute | Rotates between 45° and 135° | Prevents chute pivot freezing |
| Linear Actuator | Adjusts between 15° and 30° | Keeps actuator gears mobile |
| Deflector | Moves back and forth between 16° and 48° | Prevents hinge and linkage freezing |
| Auger Blades | Rotates for 2 seconds | Prevents auger shaft and bearings from locking up |
Anti-Freeze Mode triggers automatically when:
The system will remain in this preventive cycle until temperature conditions rise above freezing or the machine is powered on for active use.
If you notice minor movements or sounds from your Yarbo during cold nights, don’t worry—this is just Anti-Freeze Mode doing its job to keep your machine healthy and winter-ready.
