¶ What Is “Work Twice” Mode?
When Work Twice is enabled, Yarbo performs two consecutive passes over the same work area in a single session. The first pass handles bulk snow removal, while the second pass cleans up any residual snow for a smoother, more complete result.
Work Twice is especially useful for heavy, wet, or layered snow where a single pass may leave thin strips or uneven coverage.
Note: Work Twice is off by default and is not supported on slopes.
¶ Where to Find It
- Open the Area Setting
- Locate the Work Twice toggle
- Enable it to reveal the second-pass settings (including the Offset toggle)
¶ Settings
When Work Twice is enabled, you can configure the second pass independently using these settings:
These settings work the same way as the standard area settings, but apply only to the second pass — letting you fine-tune second-pass behavior separately from the first.
¶ Offset
The Offset feature shifts the second pass laterally relative to the first pass, allowing Yarbo to clear the strips between the first pass's tracks rather than retracing the exact same lines.
¶ How Offset Works
When Offset is enabled, Yarbo's second pass is automatically shifted by half the first pass's path spacing (Gap). This places the second pass directly between the first pass's tracks, covering any narrow strips of snow that the first pass may have missed.
¶ Why Offset Matters
- Covers In-Between Strips: Targets the narrow gaps between first-pass tracks that may retain snow
- No Manual Tuning Needed: Offset is automatically calculated from your Gap — no need to set distances manually
- Improves Overall Clearing: Especially helpful in heavy or wet snow where a single pass leaves residue
¶ Why Use Work Twice?
- Ideal for heavy, wet, or layered snow — situations where one pass isn't enough
- Removes residual strips — paired with Offset, the second pass targets exactly what the first pass missed
- Independent tuning — adjust second-pass settings separately for finer control (e.g., lower auger speed or different deflector angle for cleanup)
- Smoother final surface — improves both visual cleanliness and clearing thoroughness
¶ Tips for Best Results
- Enable Offset for the most thorough coverage — without it, the second pass simply retraces the first
- For the second pass, you can typically use lower Auger Speed (Balanced or Quiet) since most snow has already been cleared
- Auger Minimum Height can be slightly lowered on the second pass to catch any compressed residue
- Avoid setting the auger too low on the first pass in thick snow — this may cause blockage
- Work Twice is not available on sloped work areas
